Belinda Brodrick

Belinda BroderickBelinda Brodrick is a midwife with 15 years experience who assists Dr. Morris.

She will help and guide you through your pregnancy, joining you at your meetings with Dr. Morris where she can answer your questions from a midwife’s perspective.

Belinda qualified as a registered nurse in 1987 and has worked in Australia and the United Kingdom in general nursing and midwifery. She recently joined us from a twelve year career at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she was the Nurse Unit Manager of Ambulatory Care/ outpatients..

Belinda holds certificates in Nursing, Midwifery, Sexual and Reproductive Health. She is a graduate in Child and Family Health Nursing, holds a diploma in Nursing management and recently became a member of the International Board of Lactation Consultants.

Her professional memberships include the New South Wales Nurses Association and the Australian College of Midwives.

Belinda has an immense knowledge of midwifery and the care of pregnant women. She is accessible during the week from Monday to Thursday to answer any questions and assist in your needs.

Alexis Upton

LexieAlexis Upton joined Stephen Morris’ Practice in February 2010.  Lex is one of the most experienced midwives in Australia having, for the past 19 years, been in charge as the Nurse Unit Manager of the Delivery Ward at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.  In this role, Lex managed day-to-day a client throughput of 7,000 women per year with a delivery rate of 5,000 per year. Lex had an active involvement with all aspects of childbirth, including antenatal assessment, delivery, resuscitation and postnatal care.  Lex coordinated midwifery and auxiliary staff, liaised with obstetricians, anaesthetists, and associated specialists. Lex helped develop and write the Policy and Procedure Manual for the Delivery Ward at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and The Birth Centre.

Lex has an extensive nursing background dating from 1975; in the 1980s, she worked in California in an obstetric unit and alternative birthing centre facilitating the development of the unit.  Lex has also been a parent educator, both domestically and internationally.

Lex has spent time working within mental health unit teams where she was the Program Coordinator with the Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Unit at Rozelle Hospital in the late 1980s. Lex has been a member of the Nurses and Midwives Board Tribunal and Professional Standards Committee since 1995, and she is a member of the New South Wales Perinatal Network Service.  Lex is also a member of the High Risk Obstetric Advisory Group, a member of the New South Wales Hospital Delivery and Midwifery Unit Managers’ Group, a member of the New South Wales Nurses Association Midwifery Advisory Committee.

Lex works within the Practice of Dr Stephen Morris and will facilitate your care in conjunction with your philosophy of pregnancy with Dr Stephen Morris.
